Hour of AI 2025

Minecraft Education launches “Hour of AI: The First Night,” a free DLC and demo that lets players conquer the notorious first night with an AI agent they program themselves. The lesson is playable by anyone through Minecraft Education’s MakeCode environment. The module extends a decade of Hour of Code collaboration with Code.org and Microsoft, embedding puzzle-driven tasks that teach pattern recognition and resource classification. Players train their Agent and its mini-helpers to gather materials and automate shelter construction before sunset.

“I may run out of ideas, but I’ll never run out of new combinations of ideas.” —Jerry Weinberg, “Weinberg on Writing – The Fieldstone Method“, Chapter 16, Putting Your Subconscious to Work

Jerry’s book uses frequent analogies to building fieldstone walls.

How not to run out of ideas: Stone Wall GIF by JC Property Professionals

The same is true of creating unique combinations of ideas.
