How People Around the World View AI
How People Around the World View AI

Pew Research Center’s survey of adults in 25 countries shows concern outweighs enthusiasm toward AI’s growing presence in daily life. A median 34% are more concerned than excited, while only 16% are more excited than concerned. Awareness is broad but uneven, with 34% hearing a lot about AI and 47% hearing a little, heavily skewed toward higher-income countries. For regulation, 53% trust the EU, 37% trust the U.S., 27% trust China, and confidence in national governments ranges from 89% in India to 22% in Greece. Younger adults, men, the highly educated and heavy internet users report higher awareness and greater excitement than older, less-connected groups. Political alignment also matters: U.S. Republicans and Europe’s right-leaning voters show more faith in the U.S., while younger respondents in 19 nations place greater trust in China as an AI regulator.

British TV show claims to be the first to use AI presenter

The programme, Will AI Take My Job? aired Monday evening, investigating AI automation's impact on sectors from law to medicine.

Viewers discovered at the show's close that its host, Aisha Gaban, was entirely AI-generated.

The AI presenter said: “AI is going to touch everybody’s lives in the next few years. And for some, it will take their jobs. Call centre workers? Customer service agents? Maybe even TV presenters like me. Because I’m not real. In a British TV first, I’m an AI presenter.

Inside San Francisco’s new AI school: is this the future of US education?
Inside San Francisco’s new AI school: is this the future of US education?

Alpha School promises kids can learn twice as fast with just two hours of daily academics powered by AI, but experts say the evidence is thin, the benefits uneven, and equity concerns loom.

More Insights:

AI mainly personalizes pacing and assignments; it’s guide-led, not chatbot-taught.

Model echoes older self-directed approaches (e.g., Montessori) and long-used tools (IXL, Khan, Duolingo, Math Academy).

Claims of top 1–2% scores and 90% satisfaction face selection-bias questions given affluent demographics and sky-high SF tuition.

Researchers urge rigorous trials and warn about hallucinations, bias, and risks for less-motivated or younger learners.

Public districts are cautiously integrating AI literacy and pilots, signaling inevitability—but not a one-size-fits-all solution.

People are using AI to talk to God
People are using AI to talk to God

Faced with the questions and challenges of modern life, Vijay Meel, a 25-year-old student who lives in Rajasthan, India, turns to God. In the past he's consulted spiritual leaders. More recently, he asked GitaGPT. GitaGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot trained on the Bhagavad Gita, the holy book of 700 verses of dialogue with the Hindu god Krishna. GitaGPT looks like any text conversation you'd have with a friend – except the AI tells you you're texting with a god. "When I couldn't clear my banking exams, I was dejected," Meel says. But after stumbling on GitaGPT, he typed in details about his inner crisis and asked for the AI's advice. "Focus on your actions and let go of the worry for its fruit," GitaGPT said. This, along with other guidance, left Meel feeling inspired. "It wasn't a saying I was unaware of, but at that point, I needed someone to reiterate it to me," Meel says. "This reflection helped me revamp my thoughts and start preparing all over again." Since then, GitaGPT has become something like a friend, that he chats with once or twice a week.

What Happens When the AI Bubble Bursts?

“The residue of the bubble will be sticky, coating creative industries with a thick, sooty grime of an industry which grew expansively, without pausing to think about who would be caught in the blast radius.” Alex Hanna

"I read a really great phrase recently that said something along the lines of 'why would I bother to read something someone couldn't be bothered to write' and that is such a powerful statement and one that aligns absolutely with my views."

By helping Uber strengthen its AI, drivers could be accelerating the very driverless world they fear... Uber already offers autonomous rides in Waymo vehicles in Atlanta and Austin, and plans to expand. Meanwhile, Waymo is rolling out its pilot partnership with DoorDash [for driverless grocery/meal deliveries] starting in Phoenix.
